The Yoga Atlantic Society is presently looking for a Part-time administrative assistant and Website & Membership administrator.The position offers approximately 12-15 hrs per month and may increase in certain time of the year. The assistant will report to the members of the board responsible for the tasks listed below. This position offers flexible hours and working from your home. This position is open to everyone from any region as long as he/she is able to use web tools for on-going communication. • Ability to work independently and experience using web based tools for meetings (ex. Live Meeting, Skype or MSN)
• Ability to manage time and communication efforts
• Experience with website content management programs (ex. Drupal or Sharepoint)
• Proficient writing, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Experience with bookkeeping

• Make changes to web site as needed such as writing or editing content for the website
• Assist new members with completing membership applications and troubleshooting any issues they have with the process
• Respond to web inquiries for Yoga Atlantic association (supported by board members)
• Monitor and troubleshoot website issues and email membership list issues, communicate with hosting service to resolve issues
• Maintain thorough documentation
• Perform banking and association record keeping (year end report), provide receipts for memberships
• Assist in special events (ex. bi-annual conference and annual meeting)
• Any other related functions needed

In continuation with the transformational process of the community that began with the Visionary Gathering in September, Yoga Atlantic Association is excited to announce that we will hold a day long festival in the New Year in Halifax. The intention will be to offer all members and non-members, families and friends, a day of celebration. Much more information will be forwarded in the very near future. We are looking forward to the same opportunity for New Brunswick coming this spring.

The Yoga Atlantic Association is a proud sponsor of the new Yoga TV show, The Path of Yoga seen on EastlinkTV (channel 10) every morning at 7:00am. The Path of Yoga is also shown at 1:30pm, 4-5 days/week. There are also plans to have this show on “Eastlink on Demand”. Thank you to all the Teachers who participated in this project to help promote and offer free yoga to our community.

We are looking for people who are willing to assist us in finding participants for our member benefits package. We would like to arrange specials for YA members with various retailers, yoga studios, wellness or spa centers in each of the Atlantic provinces. All ideas are welcome so please email info [at] yogaatlantic [dot] ca if you are interested in this pursuit.

 We are also looking for Teachers who would like to contribute content to the newsletter and the website on a regular basis. The newsletter is published four times per year and the website updates could be written on a monthly basis. We want to offer informative, innovative, spiritual and physical input.
