Each day will begin with an asana flow class then ayurveda lecture to determine your specific dosha constitution. There will be a cooking class learning how to prepare the foods for your constitution (and eating!) followed by learning the specific Yoga poses most beneficial for you. Sat evening will include Yoga Nidra. The entire weekend is suitable for all levels. The Mackinnon-Cann Inn is offering a discount on rooms for those wishing to stay at the Inn.

Yoga Teacher Training 550 hour Program

The course is 13 weekends plus Doug Keller weekend workshop.  It is organized to span 13 months.  No classes in the summer or winter.

The 550 Hour course is a 300 hour continuation of Yoga Ink's 220+ hour program.  Graduates of other 200 hour programs are welcome to apply.

The program explores in depth all aspects of teaching Yoga: different levels of asana practice; assists and adjustments; different styles; the chakras and asana; the doshas and asana. Also, how to teach meditation, chanting, and pranayama. Ethics, Yoga Business including how to organize workshops.  

A wonderful collection of Yoga texts will be given out to support the subjects discussed.

All of the requirements of Yoga Alliance will be met or exceeded. 

10 -1 2 hours of Yoga Therapy will be taught by Doug Keller, well-known authour of the two volume set "Yoga Therapy" amongst other titles.  

Yoga Asana and Anatomy will be taught by Pierre Bachand, Doctor of Osteopathy.

Yoga and nature Wilderness Retreat with Yogiji

Week one and two are each "Yoga Intensives" with full daily schedule including a certification of participation. These weeks will include morning asana, detailed instruction on Yogic philosophy, pranayama, meditation, Yoga Nidra, study of Sanskrit and the Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali. Suitable for all levels (including teachers) who are serious about learning about Yoga or deepening their current knowledge.

Week three is more relaxed with less schedule and more time in a relaxed environment living with the Guru (Yogiji). This week is more suitable for families or first timers to Yoga.

 

All meals are vegetarian, ayurvedic, organic, healthy meals.

Coalescence Day: join us for a Yoga Fund-Raiser and Potluck with the Yoga Atlantic community.
Coalescence Day is an experiential gathering where you will find yourself in the company of like-minded people who communicate a qualitative shift in community by celebrating it - the means is the end. Please pass along the invitation to anyone you think would be interested in joining this community. All ages are welcome.
All proceeds of this event go to support the people of Haiti. The Canadian Government will match whatever amount of funds we raise.

Join the Yoga Fusion 5 as they explore the expressive potential and choreographic viability of yoga postures. Delve into the undeniably tangible human experience  of Yoga Asana which intrinsically possess a sumptuous beauty and fluidity that act as the ideal form to express  harmony, balance, spirituality and union. YF5:  Leslie Hunter, Maxine Munro, Jolene d'Entremont, Heather Reynolds, Siobhan Russell.

1:30 – 3:00 p.m.      Nisarga Yoga with James Traverse
Nisarga Yoga is Breathing Yoga. James will guide an 8 part yoga flow-er session structured to facilitate the primary aim of yoga which is to 'Know Thyself'.
3:00 - 3:30 p.m.      Break
3:30 - 4:45 p.m.      YogaDance with Jody Myers
YogaDance can be loosely described as a liberating, joy filled happening -  an experience that combines free dance, guided group dance, creative movement and yoga.  The experience starts with centering, ends with Shavasana and presents lots of fun, freedom and connection in-between. "

7:00 – 8:00 p.m.      Mindful Eating (please bring your own plate and cutlery, and extras if you wish)
Vegetarian Potluck. Please bring vegetarian food that is easily prepared and your own plate and cutlery [you can bring one or two extra plates if you wish]. Mindful eating is facilitated by both sound and silence... this is a time where we will observe personal silence while eating and welcome the spiritual vibrations of our Krsna friends who will offer chants while we eat. The close of this portion of our gathering is a 10 minute relaxation meditation guided by Maryse Thuot to acknowledge digestion and absorption.
Close - Community Coalescence
A time to simply be together and absorb the vibrations of being in the company of like-minded folks. Bring cushions, pillows, blankets and any fun things you feel will enhance the quality of being and sharing with others.
