Why do yoga? Out of many secondary possibilities, one overarching reason is to cultivate, work with, and help guide the process of continual transformation. If there is one thing we know, life is ever-changing. The Yoga Atlantic Community envisions its capability to serve as a supportive organization for the continual transformational process of the association itself, its members, and the community at large. One could easily imagine that with the availability of resources, guidance and support, the process of change in our lives can be welcomed. It is precisely through this process that we learn, grow, blossom, and harvest the fruit of practice.
It is clear that to assist in this vision we, the Yoga Atlantic community, needs to come together in support of these welcome changes. Some of the September 12 gathering (check the Meetings link for detailed minutes) participants’ input shows us how all of us individually and together can start this process. We all have something to offer at one time or another and the intention of the society is to make this an open process. We all have a responsibility to “step up to the plate” and help our community move through the continual transformational process.
All input and suggestions are welcome and we understand that even though we suggest something we don’t always have the time and opportunity to assist in the process of this suggestion. These suggestions will be returned to the membership and whoever has the interest or the time to allocate their attention to this idea will be supported by the association once the suggestion is in line with the society’s mandate. If the suggestions do not find support at that time, it doesn’t mean that the idea is not valid but it may mean that it is not the right time for us, the community, to address it. All ideas and suggestions will be listed on the website, with the name of the person suggesting it, for possible development.
In continuation with this transformational process of the community, the Yoga Association is excited to announce that we will hold a day long festival in the New Year in Halifax. The intention will be to offer all members and non-members, families and friends, a day of celebration. Much more information will be forwarded in the very near future. We are looking forward to the same opportunity for New Brunswick coming this spring.
