Cheendana also teaches a quiet and restorative practice for women and partner yoga. She also has an interest in Yoga Therapeutics as taught by Doug Keller (doyoga.com)
We also host teachers and small classes here at Avalon Gardens for yoga, herbs and belly dance. We also host and organize teachers like Doug Keller, Barrie Risman and Yvonne Macor (Ayurvedic Technician) to do workshops in our community. Are you interested in teaching a workshop in the Annapolis Valley? Please contact me.
Trained in the Anusara influenced approach, emphasis is to move from the qualities of the heart. Detailed alignment, muscular energy and organic energy all express the qualities of the heart. Classes include slow flow vinyasa guided by the breath aswell as holding poses to explore our internal qualities.

After completing my Kundalini yoga teacher training in 1999 in Ottawa, Ontario at the Rama Lotus Yoga Center, I traveled West and spent time studying with many excellent Hatha yoga teachers, including 9 months living at the Salt Spring Yoga center.
I am currently studying with with:
Guylaine Williams in Halifax
http://theshala.ca
&
Michael Stone in Toronto http://www.centreofgravity.org/
I am bringing Michael to Halifax for a workshop October 8-18 2010. See listing in the events section of this website.
I teach Hatha yoga inspired by current studies of Ashtanga yoga, and other styles of Hatha yoga that I have studied for over ten years. I am also a student of Buddhism and practice meditation.

The Budokon physical practice draws upon ancient and modern yogic and martial arts styles. The foundation of the Budokon physical practice is precision, alignment and Zen mind. All Budokon techniques are designed to explore the body's full range of motion. The practice dances between agility, control, speed, power, balance and flow. The physical practice is divided into two themes: The Yogic Series, and the Budo Series. Both themes constantly draw from and depend on each other. The Yin Budokon Yogic Series helps develop techniques and alignment. The focus is on control, calm, power and precision. The Yan Budokon Budo Series is a combination of basic techniques, cardio-budo and kata flow from standing and ground techniques. The objective of this series is to teach agility, power, focus and flow in the body and mind.
